Hosack Run/Lollipop Trail Hike – 8:45 am – 5.5 miles

Hosack Run “lollipop” hike with Appalachian – 8:45 AM Hike Details:

Starting at Caledonia, we will hike North (2 uphills) on the Appalachian Trail to past Quarry Gap Shelter.  Another uphill and we follow the Hosack Run Trail (downhill) through rhododendron tunnels, cross over the stream two times and return to the Appalachian Trail via Locust Gap Trail which is easy hiking on a gravel road. This hike is for those who would like to go a longer distance with a little bit of a challenge while enjoying beautiful scenery. (Though flowers are not in season in May, you will still go through green rhododendron tunnels!) Total distance is about 5 1/2 miles.

Bring:

1. WATER and some means of carrying it.
2. Hiking Poles (if you like)
3. Hiking (or sturdy shoes with good grip) shoes
